Client reviews really are king in the real estate industry. Now more than ever people are looking first to Google and sites like Yelp to find reviews before deciding anything.
Credibility
The most important aspect of client reviews is that they give a strong sense of credibility. Reading that others have had success with an agent makes prospective clients very inclined to use that agent as well.
Hiring a real estate agent is one field specifically where people really want to know what they're getting into. Friends and family are likely to all use the same real estate agent or real estate company. This is because there's proven success and familiarity.
An agent's reputation really is everything, read on to learn some ways to get those reviews.
Pass It On
Getting a client to leave a review might seem hard to do. It's true, one definitely doesn't want to be pushy in any way. But, try asking just twice during the process of a positive transaction. Some ideas of casually requesting a review are below:
- While a client is getting offers on their home, etc. mention "I'm so glad this has gone so well. It would be so helpful to me if you left a Yelp review."
- At the bottom of emails sent to clients near the end of a transaction have a quick note asking politely for a review and why they are important. Be sure to include a link so that it's easy for the clients to do.
- When sending or delivering a gift to a client (bottle of wine, gift card, etc.) leave a thank you note that mentions how much you appreciate their business and asking for a review.
In order for word of mouth to get passed on and for your reputation to grow, one thing must be true. It must be easy for the client to leave you a review. Remove as many hoops as possible when it comes to the process of leaving a review.
Another great tip is to respond quickly to client inquiries in a way that promotes good relations.
Keep up the good work and keep earning those gleaming client reviews!
