Summertime can be the busiest time of year for many agents. There's the summertime rush of families wanting to get settled before the school year resumes, the rush of vacation rentals if an agent is also involved in property management, events and networking opportunities galore - you name it, it's busy. Not to mention trying to find balance and take your own vacations and downtime. Preparing for summertime as an agent is necessary to show up and do your best.
Summertime is Busy, Busy, Busy
Families wanting to settle in
Families want to be settling in right as summertime begins. This is because they want to be in their routines as the school year commences in August and September. Because of this, it's a great time to sell as summertime approaches. This is something agents can prepare for by knowing who of their clients wants to sell or has been thinking about it. Late spring is a great time to approach those you know are thinking about selling and inform of them of what summertime might offer them. Ensure that homes are being prepared to list as well.
The rush of vacations
Whether clients are looking to rent, buy, or sell - it can be hard to manage any of that while dealing with summertime vacations. Working with clients schedules can be extra tricky here so in order to prepare, agents must organize themselves ahead of time.
Not to mention, if an agent also does property management, then summer is usually their busiest time of year. Multiple check-ins and filled rental calendars are great and mean a steady stream of income, but they also mean attention to detail. It can be hard for these agents to be able to take their own vacations. In order to prepare, agents must have solid systems in place that streamline any issues that may come their way.
Events and Networking
Barbecues, mixers - the works. Agents must prepare for summertime by being out and about during the heat of the season and getting their name out there. Networking is so important for agents. This is something that all agents must prepare for in order to grow their business.
