Being a part time real estate agent has its perks. Could this be the way for you to enter or stay in the industry?
Entering the Industry
Entering the real estate industry can be a daunting task. Starting a new career in general can be nerve-wracking. A great way to begin one's career as an agent is to start part time with part time expectations. This goes for everything: hours, salary, etc. Working as a part time agent allows one to continue earning income in another way while building their business before taking the leap.
One thing to keep in mind is that the beginning of any career requires full time hustle. Maybe you've been thinking about getting into real estate and your searches have brought you to considering starting out halfway. Testing the waters is a wonderful way to figure out if real estate is for you and to work out any kinks before going full force into life as an agent.
Staying in the Industry
There's a dozen reasons why one might need to take a step back from being a full time agent. Family matters, personal issues, and the economy are all common reasons why anyone makes adjustments in their career.
If things need to shift or slow down but you don't want to walk away from real estate in entirety - consider part time work. This allows agents to still keep their finger on the pulse of the market, maintain relationships, and gives them the power of saying "no".
Stepping back, taking a break, and recalibrating are always a good idea if they are a valid option. Real estate agents can have inherent flexibility if they so choose!
