Social media can be an agent's best friend. In a digital world where marketing is quickly surpassing word of mouth - one's online presence is more vital than ever. Luckily, the ability to generate leads on social media is relatively straightforward and can provide business long into the future.
Content
As with anything - it's what you put out that matters most. Posting regularly is great - but not if the content is doing the opposite of generating leads. The content an agent puts out is a part of their reputation and the message their business puts out.
Content can vary for both stories and posts. For stories; try more conversational content by showing some of your personality (your brand). Other great ideas for stories are new home previews, photos of clients (approved, only), and quick video tutorials, etc. A quick way to generate leads from stories is by asking questions and having your audience answer because this connects you with your audience and can create relationships.
Your actual postings should be geared towards longer lasting content. For example, tips and tricks you share, links of blog postings to your website, your headshot, and other important going-ons within your business.
Engagement
This is connection which is the main point of social media. When done properly, social media can be a full time job or at the very least a position within your company (depending on the size). Regardless, social media requires scheduled content that is well thought out and constant monitoring of the apps used. Without monitoring your social media apps there is no way to build engagement.
Engaging with one's audience is what makes social media work for you. Answering questions, liking and sharing other posts, creating and responding to DMs, and of course, the marketing of the agent.
Be sure to create an online presence with your social media with meaningful content and constant engagement.
