Trick or Treat! Halloween is around the corner and this coming weekend most likely has multiple fun plans surrounding the spooky holiday. As an agent, maybe you're thinking about dipping your toes into a new niche or maybe you're a seasoned professional. Either way, you'll soon find out or you already know that there are both tricks and treats in this business.
Tricks
There's the obvious tricks of the industry like:
- the pressure of being your own boss
- market lulls and economy dips
- working so closely to potentially emotional decisions
- navigating a work/life balance
These are all widely perceived cons of the business of being a real estate agent. While there's no arguing that being an agent comes with struggles and pressures - it is absolutely worth noting that the pros largely outweigh the cons. Of course, it's more important to note that what one sees as tricks or treats is often based upon their own personal circumstances and temperament.
Being your own boss and navigating work/life balance is hard work. There's no ifs, ands, or buts about it. That's what makes some agents work around the clock. However, it doesn't have to be that way. And, like we've mentioned before, the general consensus is that agents love their job.
Treats
We could go on and on about the treats of the industry over here at Elite Informer. For the sake of brevity however, we'll focus on the main points!
- You get to be your own boss
- It's something new and different almost every day
- You can build close relationships with other professionals
- Clients can become friends
- Your day can start when you want it to most of the time
- You get to balance your work and life and do both some times!
Trick or treat is a question that usually only has one answer - treat, of course! The real estate industry is no different. As with everything, it's a matter of perspective.
Have a great Halloween weekend!
