No matter what career someone is in, odds are there are times they feel they have plateaued. Feeling stagnant in one's job isn't something anyone wants to feel, and in a field like real estate - it can be downright alarming. The real estate industry is one based on sales and forward momentum, and there's no time for a plateau.
There are ways to break free from this brief pause on upward motion however, so keep reading!
Why Plateaus Happen
Odds are, all agents have been there once or twice. Sales are going well, nothing is wrong, but for what reason? The reality is that there are million reasons why agents hit a plateau. The market itself could be one of them. Motivation is on the lower side occasionally. Maybe one's personal life is taking up more of their brain space than usual. Either way, these pauses in high productivity are normal, but can be costly.
Jumping Into a New Stage
Realizing one has plateaued isn't something that makes an agent feel good. It's stressful and can make agents feel like their career may not be going anywhere or is as good as it gets. When this happens, it's time to jump into a new stage of motivation.
Motivation truly is the unsung hero here. There's no better way to move forward than to refocus one's energy on motivation when it comes to closing deals and being the best agent possible. A fine line exists between never being happy with what one does or has and constant drive and motivation. Agents need to find this line when experiencing a plateau and just keep driving on. Feeling the need to do more, more, more, and be the best they can be is what will push clients into an even better stage of their career.
If you're experiencing a career plateau; take a step back, survey the situation, see what it in your control, and make sure your next move changes something because change brings change - nothing else.
Leveling Up to New Heights
Having plateaued doesn't need to be a "bad thing," in fact, it often times is just what someone needs to push themselves to level up and see their career to new heights.
