Sometimes being a real estate agent is harder than expected. There's constant phone calls and text messages. Don't get any agent started on their email inbox. Not to mention the nights, weekends, holidays, and vacations that seem to have no break. Here are some things that agents wish were easier about the real estate industry.
The Lack of Work/Life Balance
Sometimes there seems to be no off button when it comes to the industry. Agents find themselves fielding calls at dinner time, regularly. Their texts ding at 6 AM from an anxious client and their email inbox is constantly overflowing. While this is the sign of a thriving business, which is great for income and growth, it's also a sign of no balance.
If agents aren't careful, they can experience burnout, which would be awful for their flourishing business. Busy agents should most definitely be grateful for their success, but it's okay to wish that things were easier sometimes. Easier doesn't mean "being lazy" it just means that the balancing act sometimes seems harder than other times.
There are things that agents can do to avoid burnout, find balance, and actually be their best selves in all aspects of their lives. But, it takes dedication and a mindset that is willing to shift.
Lead Conversion
We know that you know what we're talking about. Leads are great. We love leads. But, could converting them successfully be easier sometimes?
The answer is both yes and no. Yes, you could absolutely work on your lead conversion system, and you probably should. If your people skills or sales skills aren't polished - that's absolutely step 1. But, if they are, then maybe it's time to look at the system itself.
However, the answer is also no, because that's just the nature of the game. Anyone who wants every lead to be "hot" and ready to go, clearly hasn't been in any sales industry very long at all. It's okay though for agents to wish this was easier, they just can't get stuck there. They need to move on, focus their energy where productive, and keep grinding.
